Salalah – a city in southwestern Oman, on the Arabian Sea (part of the Indian Ocean), the capital of the Dhofar Governorate and the administrative seat of the Salalah vilayet. In the years 1932-1970 the capital of Oman. An important communication route for Oman runs next to the city: the Muscat-Salalah road. The city is called the “Arab capital of perfumes”. The area around Salalah is an increasingly popular tourist resort, due to its extensive, sandy beaches with lagoons (the so-called Caribbean of the Orient) and the nature of the nearby mountain ranges: Jebel Qara and Jebel Samhan in the Dhofar Mountains.
